Abstract	:	An improved energy efficient clustering routing protocol has been presented in this paper. The proposed protocol is an improvement over EDEEC and APTEEN. The new approach exploits the advantages of both the protocols and minimizes the data transmission overhead. An improved EDEEC protocol is obtained by using the periodic and threshold-sensitive data transmission. Simulation results show that performance of the proposed approach is better than DEEC, DDEEC and EDEEC.
